Police have arrested a 46-year-old man in connection with an illegal alcohol transport operation in Hulhumalé, following a late-night raid based on intelligence received by authorities.
According to Maldives Police Service, the operation took place on Reethigas Magu in Hulhumalé, where officers intercepted a vehicle near Amin Avenue Maple. Upon searching the car’s trunk, police discovered a black bag containing boxes that held a total of 84 bottles of alcohol.
The suspect, identified as Mohamed Ushan of G. Laamige, Malé, was arrested at the scene. The vehicle used in the alleged operation has also been seized and towed by police.
Authorities have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing as they work to determine the full scope of the incident and any additional individuals who may be involved.
