Managing Director of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), has declared that the expansion of Velana International Airport is integral to the Maldives’ economic advancement.
Speaking at the Velana Awards ceremony, Shareef emphasised that the airport’s development is inseparably linked to national prosperity. He stated that industry partners remain indispensable to institutional success, noting that the awards were established to formally recognise these essential contributions.
Shareef underscored that operational efficiency remains the fundamental measure of achievement within the aviation sector. He cited the introduction of new services and additional flight routes as tangible indicators of progress, describing these expansions as gateways to fresh opportunities for the country’s tourism industry and its citizens.
The MACL Managing Director also highlighted the importance of collaboration in meeting the government’s annual aviation benchmarks.
