The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA), the Bank of Maldives (BML), and the Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) have announced service hours for the month of Ramadan.
BML’s branches and service centres will open from 09:30 am to 12:30 pm during Ramadan and the first seven days of Shawwal. The bank will be closed on the first day of Ramadan. According to BML, deposit, withdrawal and transfer services will still remain available 24/7 through the bank’s self-service banking centres nationwide. Basic banking services will also be accessible through cash agents across residential islands.
Meanwhile, MIB will provide banking services from 09:00 am to 1:00 pm during Ramadan. MMA, the central bank, will open from 09:00 am to 1:00 pm on non-public holidays during Ramadan and the first seven days of Shawwal. MMA’s banking services will operate from 09:30 am to 12:30 pm. Letters and documents will also be received during this timing.
The government has also announced that official Ramadan working hours will be 09:00 am to 1:00 pm, as in previous years.
