President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and First Lady Madam Fathimath Ibrahim have departed to Saudi Arabia today on an invitation of His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
The President and First Lady departed to Saudi on a special plane arranged by the Government of Saudi Arabia.
President’s Office informed President Yameen and Maldives delegation will be received by King Salman at Riyadh King Khalid International Airport. The office also informed during the visit، King Salman will hold an official call with President Yameen، and hold an official banquet.
In addition، Saudi Defence Minister، Foreign Minister، Islamic Minister، Education Minister، Finance Minister and Petroleum & Mineral Resources Minister will make courtesy calls on President Yameen.
Maldives delegation includes، MDA leader MP Ahmed Siyam، Fisheries Minister Dr. Mohamed Shainee and Islamic Minister Dr. Shaheem Ali Saeed.
King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud conducted a state visit to Maldives in 2014، whilst he was the crown prince of Saudi Arabia.
