Colonel Rtd. Nazim’s case to be submitted to Supreme Court next week

The legal team of former Defence Minister Colonel Rtd. Mohamed Nazim has said they are preparing to appeal the case at the Supreme Court by the next week.
Nazim’s legal team informed the appeal was delayed as the team was not provided with the full case report of the High Court. However، the legal team said that they have received all the necessary documents from the High Court for the case to be appealed in the Supreme Court.
Former Minister was charged with possession of dangerous weaponry، and the Criminal Court sentenced him to 11 years in prison on 27 March 2015. The sentence was upheld by the High Court on 15 March 2016..
He was arrested regarding the issue on 10th February 2015، after his apartment was raided by the Police on 18 January 2015.
While the legal team prepares to appeal the case in the Supreme Court، ex-Minister Nazim is currently in Singapore on a medical leave. Though the Correctional Services has notified him to return، Nazim said he will return to the country after the medical purposes have been completed abroad.
