Ali Waheed calls govt to find shelter for the youth

Chairperson of MDP, Ali Waheed has called the government to find shelter for the youth instead of making them to causing mischief on the streets with their faces covered.
He made this remark speaking at the “Maldivians against tyranny” rally held at Faafu Atoll Bilehdhoo last night.
Ali Waheed said that President Yameen Abdul Gayoom is well aware of all of the gangs operating in Male’ and their locations.
He said that the Police shared all such information to him while he was the chair of the security committee of the Peoples’ Majlis.
Ali Waheed said that PPM used youths in their protests and they all covered their faces. He said that the opposition also had youth participating in their protests but they do not cover their faces. He said that all the youth in the opposition rallies are well educated and responsible citizens.
He said that it is not enough just to claim that the government is for the youth and just play a football match after opening a futsal stadium in an island. He said that the government should provide the youth with opportunities to make them well educated, respected and responsible individuals.
In addition to this, Ali Waheed said that many of the youth will be participating in the Mayday to protest against the oppression and tyranny of the current government.
