Indian High Commissioner to the Maldives Akhilesh Sharma has stated that the start of the Youth Exchange Program was an unparalleled success.
Speaking to Miadhu News regarding the ceremony held last night on the launch of the Youth Exchange Program, Mishra said that the Program had been in formulation for a while, but they had been able to start the program only now. He said the start of the program therefore an unparalleled success to the nation.
Mishar said both nations had a significant sector, 68 percent, of the population of the both nations were youth, adding that the role of youth was critical in national development. He further marked that youth have a vital role in developing bilateral ties between two nations.
“The two countries are launching ambitious development projects. Many changes are being brought to the nation and the administration of the nation. Youth have a critical role to play in this process,” he said.
Fifty Indian youth had already arrived in the Maldives as part of the program. Fifty Maldivians will depart to India in May.
