Corrections: Decision on Nasheed’s medical visit would be made after all the documents are submitted
The Medical Board of the Maldives Correctional Service has said that a decision on extending the former President Nasheed’s medical visit abroad would be made after all of the relevant documents has been submitted. An official from the Correctional Service told Sun Media that the Medical Board made the decision yesterday. The documents pending submission according to the official are, the documents concerning the end of treatment, the doctor’s estimation on the end of treatment and details of the treatment. He said that the members of the Medical Board are suspicious of the legitimacy of the document sent by the Ex-President. While it is unclear that the email was sent from the email address of the hospital, the official said that it was also lacking the stamp of the hospital and there are doubts about the authenticity of the doctor’s signature on the document. The official from Corrections said that the Office of President Nasheed refused to accept the letter about the decision from the Medical Board and requesting resubmission of the documents with amendments. “We are now working to send that letter to President Nasheed in another way.” The Official said. Ex-President Nasheed is currently in UK for surgery.
