Gov’t introduces token system system for Ramadan tuna distribution

The government has introduced a token system to distribute tuna cases to households as part of its Ramadan incentives.
The distribution of tuna cases in Male’ area began on Thursday night, with 9,394 cases issued on the first night alone. Residents queued for hours to collect their cases.
The Ministry of Cities and Local Government has made some changes today to streamline the distribution process and reduce wait times, by introducing an online token system to reduce wait times. Tokens will specify collection times and locations, with further details to be announced.
The ministry can collect tuna cases for up to three households. Additionally collection centres have been set up in Male’, Villimale’, and Hulhumale’.
The distribution centres and the number of tokens to be issued are as follows:
MIFCO Complex (Maafannu): 200 tokens
MTCC Sawmill: 200 tokens
Henveiru Stadium: 100 tokens
National Stadium – Setup 1 : 50 tokens
National Stadium – Setup 2 : 50 tokens
National Stadium – Setup 3 : 50 tokens
National Stadium – Setup 4 : 50 tokens
Social Center : 100 tokens
Villimale’ – WAMCO site: 100 tokens
Hulhumale’ – Umar Zahir Building: 100 tokens
Hulhumale’ – Polco Tower (C Block): 100 tokens
Hulhumale’ – Hiyaa Tower 10 : 100 tokens
Hulhumale’ – Kamil Didi Preschool: 100 tokens
Tuna can distribution will take place from 8:00 pm to 12:00 am.
