A 28-year-old Indian national has been apprehended following the robbery of an elderly woman's mobile phone on Wednesday afternoon.
CCTV footage of the incident, widely circulated on social media, depicts a man in a black T-shirt trailing an elderly woman before swiftly snatching her phone and fleeing the scene.
Police confirmed that the incident was reported at 15:19 hrs, and the robbery occurred near Central Mart in the Galolhu ward of Male' city.

The arrested individual has been identified as Kuldeep Singh, an Indian citizen. Authorities have successfully recovered the stolen phone.
In connection with the incident, three other Indian nationals have been arrested on suspicion of involvement.
Police are currently conducting further investigations into the matter.
Theft and robbery are recurring issues in the Maldives, with numerous such cases reported to law enforcement agencies monthly.
