Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has called for urgent humanitarian action as children in Gaza face starvation due to the ongoing crisis.
In a post shared on his official X account, Minister Shaheem stated that helping within one’s capacity is a humanitarian duty. He urged individuals and governments alike to provide food assistance through humanitarian organizations and Red Crescent societies actively working to deliver aid to Gaza.
"Saving one life is like saving all of humanity," the Minister wrote, referencing the Quranic verse often cited to emphasize the value of each human life.
Multiple organizations and private individuals in the Maldives are actively involved in fundraising efforts and advocacy to support those affected by the conflict in Gaza.
The Maldivian government has consistently voiced support for the Palestinian people and continues to call for international attention to the human rights violations and humanitarian suffering unfolding in the region.
