President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with members of the L. Isdhoo Island Council, the Women’s Development Committee (WDC), and heads of local institutions to discuss and strengthen the island’s ongoing development efforts.
During the meeting, held at the Secretariat of the Isdhoo Council, council members outlined several key concerns, including the need to resolve electricity and sewerage issues and to repair the island’s generator. They also highlighted the urgent requirement for eight additional classrooms to address space constraints at the school, alongside requests for increased staffing and resources at the Health Centre.
The Council further proposed the replacement of the futsal turf, the establishment of a running track, and the construction of an indoor badminton court. Members also shared the island’s Heritage Development Plan with the President.
President Dr Muizzu assured that the concerns raised would be duly addressed. He was accompanied by a delegation of Cabinet ministers and heads of State-Owned Enterprises, who also shared updates on the progress of ongoing projects on the island.
