President Wavel Ramkalawan and First Lady Linda Ramkalawan of the Republic of Seychelles has arrived to the Maldives on a state visit.
President and First Lady of Seychelles arrived today afternoon at the invitation of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. The President and First Lady of the Seychelles, along with their team, were welcomed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid (ODRI) at Velana International Airport (VIA). The government will hold a ceremony on Monday to officially welcome the Seychellois First Couple.
President Ramkalawan would meet with President Solih during his visit to discuss measures to improve bilateral relations. In addition, the two leaders would exchange a number of agreements and release a joint statement outlining the results of their discussions.
President Ramkalawan’s trip to the Maldives is evidence of how closely related the two nations are. It is anticipated that the visit would result in increased cooperation between the Maldives and the Seychelles. Maldives and Seychelles established diplomatic relations on July 1, 1980.
