The Maldives’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdulla Khaleel has sent a message of felicitations to India’s Minister of External Affairs, Dr S. Jaishankar, on the 77th Republic Day of India.
In his message, the Foreign Minister shared warm greetings and best wishes on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives to the Government and the people of India, describing the occasion as a reflection of India’s enduring commitment to democratic values and inclusive development.
He highlighted that India, as the world’s largest democracy with a rich civilisational history and heritage, plays a central role in promoting peace, stability, and cooperation across the region.
Minister Khaleel also highlighted the significant progress made in bilateral cooperation between the two nations, stating that recent engagements between the two states have further strengthened the close and enduring partnership.
Dr Khaleel reiterated that these recent engagements are a testament that the relationship continues to be defined by trust, mutual understanding, and strategic alignment.
Concluding his message, he extended personal best wishes to Dr Jaishankar for good health and happiness and expressed hopes for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of India.
