Adam Azim, the younger brother of convicted former Minister of Defence Mohamed Nazim, joined opposition Jumhoory Party late on Sunday.
Formerly the managing director of State Trading Organisation (STO) and currently a member of the opposition coalition's shadow cabinet, Adam Azim joined Jumhoory Party at a special ceremony held at the party's main hub of Kunooz in capital Male.
He was also appointed as advisor to the party's leader.
