Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Ahmed Mahloof has revealed the ministry has conducted projects worth USD 1.62 million in Addu City since the beginning of 2019.
Responding to a question at the Parliament of the Maldives, Minister Mahloof said USD 1.62 million worth of projects have been conducted in Addu since last year, focused on youth, sports and community empowerment. In this regard, he highlighted the projects to develop the football grounds in Feydhoo and Hulhudhoo, as well as the development of swimming tracks in multiple wards of Addu City.
The minister noted several projects have also been put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, adding such projects will be included in the state budget for 2021. He said the ministry will broaden its scope of projects across all regions of the country next year.
