Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef, on Friday, has depart on an official visit to Spain to participate in the ‘Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4)’.
The conference will be held in Seville, Spain, from June 30th to July 3rd.
The Vice President is set to attend the opening session and deliver a statement at the plenary meeting of the conference. He is also scheduled to take part in thematic multi-stakeholder roundtables, where he will emphasize the Maldives' initiatives on financial reform and urge the international community to support debt sustainability and inclusive representation.
In addition, the Vice President will speak at side events organized by the Maldives during the conference. Senior officials from the Maldivian government will also be present, participating in various high-level engagements throughout the event.
The FfD4 conference provides a platform for high-level dialogue on financial reform, uniting representatives from governments, international and regional bodies, financial and trade institutions, the private sector, civil society, and the United Nations. The last conference took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in 2015.
