Not possible to postpone implementation of order to arrest Nasheed to take him to Court: High Court

The High Court has said that it is not possible to issue an order to postpone the implementation of the order by Hulhumale’ Magistrate Court to arrest former President Mohamed Nasheed to produce him before court for the trial against him regarding the unconstitutional arrest of Chief Judge of Criminal Court Abdullah Mohamed.
Sun Online understands that High Court informed Nasheed’s legal team that there are no grounds to issue an order to postpone implementation of Hulhumale’ Court’s order, in a document sent to the team by the court this evening.
The first hearing scheduled for 3:00 pm today was cancelled following the appeal in High Court by Nasheed’s team of the Hulhumale’ Court order upon the police to arrest him in order to take him to court today. High Court said that the hearing was cancelled because it had not been possible to deliver the official summon chit to Nasheed.
Nasheed has said that he wants to obtain India’s protection, and has been in the Indian High Commission since this afternoon.
