A diving team of Maldives National Defense Force is at the crash site of Trans Maldivian Airways sea plane near Lhaviyani Kureddhoo.
The team is reportedly searching for the parts of the plane.
On a statement released this afternoon، MNDF said that a diving team of MNDF Northern Area Coast Guard Squadron is at the crash site.
The seaplane crashed two miles out of Kuredu Island Resort، whilst carrying 14 pax – 11 passengers، 2 pilots and 1 crew member – around 17:30 on Thursday evening.
While no one was injured in the accident، a speed boat from Kuredu rescued all passengers onboard immediately after the crash، safely transporting them to the resort.
Most of the parts of the seaplane has been recovered، although some are still remaining underwater، which are being recovered by the divers team.
Meanwhile Civil Aviation Authority said seaplane bound to Lhaviyani Kureddhoo crashed as it was landing in an emergency following a technical failure
