"All Maldivian Hajj pilgrims present; all are doing fine" – Minister Ziyad

During the nonstop heavy rainfall in Saudi Arabia، a crane which was being used in the expansion of Masjid al-Haram crashed on to the Ka’aba. However، Islamic Minister Dr. Ahmed Ziyad has said that no Maldivian Hajj pilgrims have been injured in this incident and that all are present.
Minister said on behalf of Maldives Hajj Mission that all Maldivian Hajj pilgrims are safely present and all are doing just fine.
MD of Hajj Corporation، Yamin Idhrees also said that all Hajj pilgrims under their corporation are currently present in the hotel، and that no pilgrim was injured in the accident that took place.

Maldives Hajj Mission has confirmed that all Maldivian Hajj pilgrims are doing well and are present at the hotels.
In an interview to ‘Vaguthu’، Minister said that since the incident took place close to the time of Salat Al-Maghrib، Maldivian Hajj pilgrims would have also witnessed the crane collapse. Minister also noted that Maldives is with Saudi Arabia at a moment of grief like this.
While 87 people have been reported in this incident so far، around 180 people have been injured.
