5th youth leadership program starts

Democracy House’s annual Youth Leadership Program has started its 5th edition this Tuesday.
The special guest for the event held at the Institute of Governance and Development in Bandos Island Resort was Attorney General Mohamed Anil.
The program، which is scheduled to continue for 3 weeks is made possible with the aid of the Parliament، UNDP and UNFPA.
The program’s goals are to instill leadership in the youth، make them aware of numerous issues faced by the community، instill responsibility in them، to raise awareness of democracy and the make them away of the way the parliament goes about its business. Youths aged between 16 and 21 are eligible to take part in the event.
40 people from 17 atolls are to take part in this year’s program، with an equal number of girls and boys.
A special handbook meant to make today’s leadership aware of the issues faced by youths in the country was unveiled at Tuesday’s event along with a campaign to raise the issues to the policy makers titled “#policy22”.
