Member of Parliament for Hulhu Henveyru Constituency Moosa Manik has said that he will contest in the MDP Primaries for 2018 elections.
Speaking in SanguTV, Moosa said that only former President Mohamed Nasheed can defeat him in the primaries. Moosa added that he will be the contender who can defeat President Yameen in the coming elections, citing that political leverage and sanctity did not play a major role in winning elections.
MDP had dismissed Moosa from the Party. However, Moosa had challenged the motion, adding that he will contest in the primaries with the backing on 2000 members of MDP.
Moosa is currently the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament. He was serving as Chairperson of MDP, prior to his dismissal from the Party.
