Islamic University of the Maldives and Islamic Bank has signed an agreement of cooperation between the two institutions.
The agreement was signed in a ceremony held this afternoon at Islamic University.
The Chancellor of Islamic University, Dr.Mohammed Shaheem Ali Saeed signed the agreement on behalf of IUM while Haris Haaroon the MD of Islamic Bank signed on behalf of Islamic Bank.
The areas of cooperation include; designing curricula related to Islamic finance, financing IUM to establish an Islamic Finance faculty at IUM, providing financial aid to students, providing merit and need based scholarships on some areas, financing IUM to publish books to raise aware on Islamic Finance, providing internship opportunities at Islamic Bank to students of IUM, providing facilities of IUM like classrooms and halls to Islamic Bank to conduct their own programs if needed, and IUM providing administrative help to Islamic Bank to introduce their ‘Education Financing Scheme’ to the students of IUM.
Because of this agreement the University and the students will enjoy various benefits and see many new developments.
The agreement signing ceremony was attended by senior figures of both the Islamic Bank and Islamic University.
Islamic University of Maldives was established after President Yameen ratified the Islamic University Act on 05th May 2015.
