The Indian High Commissioner in Maldives, His Excellency Mr. Akhilesh Mishra paid a courtesy visit to Islamic University of Maldives, this morning.
During the visit, the High Commissioner met with the Chancellor of Islamic University of Maldives, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed and the Senior Management members.
The Chancellor welcomed the High commissioner and expressed gratitude for the valuable assistance and continued support provided by His Excellency after the appointment as the Indian High Commissioner to Maldives. The Chancellor also appreciated the High Commissioner for the corporation extended to the Institutes of Maldives during his tenure. Chancellor noted that Maldivians have always enjoyed warm and cordial relations with India based on mutual understandings and shared values. While speaking in the meeting chancellor also stated that Islamic University of Maldives respects all ideologies which promotes unity and peace.
The Chancellor and the Higher Commissioner further discussed on the areas of further cooperation between IUM and Indian Educational Institutes, and expressed his high hopes in the continued exchanges between IUM and High Commission of India in Maldives, and invited His Excellency to conduct an open lecture to the Student and Staff on January 2017.
The High Commissioner conveyed appreciation to the IUM team, especially to the Chancellor for the warm welcome, and expressed his confidence that His Excellency will provide assistance to IUM in the areas of need, and invited the Chancellor to pay a courtesy visit to India.
Chancellor was accompanied at the meeting by Deputy Vice Chancellor Admin and Finance, Mr. Ali Rasheed, and senior management members. This meeting was held at Islamic university of Maldives.
