Parliament to implement 'political party' segregation in seating

The General Purpose Committee of the parliament, on Tuesday, approved a proposal to rearrange lawmaker seats in the parliament house, according to their respective political parties.
The committee made the unanimous decision after the Parliament Secretariat submitted survey findings, to change the seating arrangement as such.
Presently, the front rows are allocated for parliamentarians representing constituencies from capital Male', with lawmakers from the northernmost atoll of Haa Alif Atoll to southernmost Seenu Atoll, arranged in their respective administrative (in this case alphabetical) order behind them.
The committee's decision would come into effect following approval from MPs on the floor.
