Indian Foreign Secretary to visit Maldives in November

Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Shringla is scheduled to undertake an official visit to Maldives in November.
According to Indian media outlet the Hindustan Times, the upcoming trip would be Shringala's third official diplomatic visit after his appointment in January.
The Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh has visited Bangladesh and Myanmar so far.
The Maldivian government recently signed a a USD 400 million credit line agreement with India’s Export Import Bank (EXIM) in order to fund the Greater Male Connectivity Project (GMCP).
Earlier in September, the Maldives-India cargo ferry was inaugurated with a maiden voyage to Kulhudhuffushi, Haa Dhaalu Atoll, a move made by the state to boost sea-connectivity and facilitate greater bilateral.
Further, at the time, Foreign Minister Shahid Abdulla emphasized on the fact that that India was one of the first countries to extend assistance to Maldives COVID-19 response.
India and Maldives will celebrate 55 years of diplomatic relations on November 1, 2020.
