President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has returned to Maldives on Thursday morning, after an official visit to the United Arab Emirates.
President Solih traveled to UAE on Sunday night, upon the invitation of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the UAE.
During the trip, where he was accompanied by a high-level delegation including Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid, President Solih attended the Zayed Sustainability Awards Ceremony and the inauguration of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.
In addition, both nations signed various agreements during the Maldives president's three-day trip including to establish a joint cooperation committee.
President Solih also met with the Maldivian community in the UAE.
This was his second official visit since being sworn-in as the country's seventh president on November 17. His first visit was to neighboring India.
