The second appeal hearings regarding the murder of Ali Shifan (Tholhi Pele’)، M. Fairy Corner filed to High Court has ended today.
Ali Shifan was murdered in front of the West Park Restaurant around 4:45 p.m. on 1 April 2012 by a group of people who stabbed him to death with a sharp object. The six people charged with Shifan’s murder was given “not guilty” verdict by the criminal court.
The six people charged with murder of Shifan are Mohamed Asif (Maafahi، Lh.Kurehendoo)، Ali Nabeeh، (M. Nalahiya Manzil)، Razzan Abdul Rahman (Kaanimaage، B. Thulhaadhoo)، Mohamed Shaifan (Male’ Dhaftharu 2193)، Mohamed Mishan Abdul Hadi (M. Silvernet) and Abdulla Thilmeez (M.Dhimmana).
In the case of Shifan’s murder، the state has appealed the verdict issued on Shaifan، Thilmeez and Mishan.
The Court previously had concluded the appeal hearing، however another hearing was held since one of the judges from the five judges was retired and he was replaced.
In the next hearing of the case، a verdict will be issued to the case، said the chief judge.
