Acting Minister of Health، Defence Minister Colonel (Retired) Mohamed Nazim has announced the construction of a new health centre in Gaaf Dhaal Atoll Gaddhoo.
Speaking in the signing ceremony held at Health Ministry on Thursday، Minister Nazim said a new health centre needs to be constructed in Gaddhoo as the current health centre has several impairments and the building lack in space to house enough patients.
He said that the Government is currently working on the establishment of a new health centre in Gaddho، capable to facilitate health services to the whole population of the island.
On Thursday، Ministry of Health has signed with several construction companies for the maintenance and restoration of 9 health centres and hospitals، including the current health centre in Gaddhoo. The remaining health centres and hospitals signed for restoration are Thimarafushi Health Centre، Kendhikulhudhoo Health Centre، Holhudhoo Health Centre، Maavashu Health Centre، Komandoo Health Centre، Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital، Gnaviyani (Fuvahmulak) Atoll Hospital and Faafu Atoll Hospital.
In addition، Minister Nazim said that following the completion of restoration، Dialysis Services will be introduced at Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital in Gaaf Dhaal Thinadhoo.
Dialysis Services have been introduced at Raa Atoll Ungoofaaru Hospital، and will be introduced at Laamu Atoll soon، Minister Nazim informed.
