Adaalath Party has stated that the party does not support holding a music show in Maldives to celebrate the new year.
In view of the new year celebration event to be held on 31st of this month, Adaalath Party’s spokesperson Sheikh Ali Zahir told Miadhu Daily that celebrating New Year is an innovation and Adaalath Party will definitely not support such days.
Ali Zahir said that celebrating new year is not from islam but from the laws of the disbelievers. He said that they will not support the show not because the singer is a non-muslim. He said that the ruling will be the same whether the singer is a non-muslim or a muslim.
“We will not support the event. This is not because the singer is a non-Muslim. We will not support it even if Ali Rameez is the singer,” he said.
Ali Zahir said that the government supporting such an event does not mean Adaalat supports it.
Adalath also condemned the video death threat made against the international singer Sean Paul.
We do not support holding a music show to celebrate new year- Adalat.
