All-party talks to start on March 2: Dr. Shainee

Fisheries Minister Dr. Mohamed Shainee has revealed that the All-Party talks is scheduled to start on the 2nd of March.
Speaking to press in the President’s Office, Dr. Shainee, who is also the co-chair of the Economic Council at the President’s Office, said that opposition MDP and Adhaalath Party will take part in the discussions. He said that this was an important development in national reconciliation. Dr. Shainee further said that the issue of their jailed leaders can be discussed in the talks.
President’s Office’s Minister AishathAzimaShakoor said that the talks will be held in a free environment and will be monitored by UN observers. Azima stressed that the observers will merely observe and will not interfere in the process.
She added that any payments made by any other agencies or individuals other than the Government, in the national reconciliation process will be investigated.
