President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom has invited Sri Lankan president Maithiripala Sirisena to visit Maldives.
According to Asian Tribune, an Online newspaper of Sri Lanka, President Yameen in a congratulatory message to President Sirisena has invited him for a state visit to exchange views in strengthening relationship between both countries.
"The election result is a testament to the trust and confidence that Sri Lankans have on your policies, your leadership, and on your commitment to the advancement of Sri Lanka," said President Yameen in his congratulatory message to President Sirisena.
While President Yameen has invited Sri Lankan President to visit Maldives, President Sirisena has also sent an invitation to president Yameen to visit Sri Lanka.
