Ooredoo Maldives donates specialized underwater dive equipment to MNDF

Ooredoo Maldives donated specialized underwater dive equipment to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), to strengthen national maritime safety and to enhance MNDF’s underwater operational capabilities.
At a special ceremony held at the MNDF Headquarters, the equipment was donated by Ooredoo Maldives Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director Khalid Al-Hamadi. The equipment was received by the Minister of Defence Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon.
The handover package includes one ocean reef M105 Digital DC (Dual Channel) communication equipment, one lubell lab underwater loudspeaker, two ocean reef face mask and two diving masks.
MNDF stated that these equipment are designed to improve improve underwater communication and enhance the safety capabilities for divers, in addition to improving operational readiness and improve quality of its operations. It added that this equipment would improve MNDF Coast Guard ability in performing vital rescue and security operations.
During the ceremony, the Chief of Defence Force also thanked Ooredoo Maldives for the generous donation, reiterating that as a nation surrounded by water, this equipment will be vital for coast guard search and rescue operations and will be put to effective use.
Ooredoo Maldives CEO Khalid Al-Hamidi recognized that MNDF role in providing security to the citizens and acknowledged that the ocean plays a vital role in the lives of Maldivians. He further said that Ooredoo Maldives is proud to have contributed towards this endeavor. Ooredoo aims to partner with initiatives that are useful and beneficial to society, he added.
