President meets Saudi Crown Prince

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Saturday has met with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud at the Al-Mina Palace.
During the meeting, President Muizzu conveyed his gratitude to the custodian of the two holy mosques, King Salman bil Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the government of Saudi Arabia for their exceptional hospitality and support.
Muizzu also thanked them for the excellent services extended to all the pilgrims who performed Hajj this year.
Their discussions centered around strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and exchanged their views on avenues to further enhance the existing ties between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia, in a manner that is mutually beneficial for both.
President Muizzu was accompanied by the Minister of Finance and Treasury, Moosa Zameer; Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel; Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation, Abdulla Rafiu; and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Chief of Protocol, Mohamed Shahudy.
On the other end, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia was accompanied by the Deputy Governor of Makkah, Prince Saud bin Mashal bin Abdul Aziz; Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Faisal bin Farhan; Minister of National Guard, Prince Abdulla bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz; Minister of Interior Affairs, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; and Minister of Sports, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal.
The President and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed, accompanied by a high-level delegation of the government, are currently in Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj pilgrimage on the invitation of the Saudi King.
While President Dr. Muizzu has met with the Saudi Crown Prince, his predecessors, both Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had met with the Crown Prince during their respective administrations as well.
Recently, President Dr. Muizzu appointed former Maldives President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan as the Special Envoy for the President and requested from him to strengthen the Maldives’ diplomatic ties with allied countries.
