Gaza is the legitimate right of the Palestinian people: President

Gaza is the land of the Palestinian people, and the Maldives will never support any attempt to remove them from their homeland, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu said today.
In his Presidential Address to Parliament, the President stated that the Maldives prioritizes global peace under its foreign policy.
“The Maldives will not accept crimes such as the occupation of another country’s land, loss of life, or violations of human dignity,” he said.
President Muizzu indirectly responded to the U.S. proposal to redevelop Gaza and relocate its people.
“The land of Gaza belongs to the Palestinian people. Maldives will never support any action by any party to remove them from their homeland,” he said.
President Muizzu reiterated the government's commitment to advocating for an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
“This government will always extend its full cooperation, support, and assistance to the Palestinian people in their pursuit of statehood,” he said.
U.S. President Donald Trump proposed evacuating Gaza and bringing it under U.S. control following his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House. His remarks have drawn widespread condemnation from various countries and organizations.
Israel reached a ceasefire with Gaza after 15 months of attacks. While much of Gaza has been devastated, Trump stated his intention to evacuate civilians, take control of the territory, and develop it into a "pleasant Riviera."
