JP leader's wife Aishath Nahula wins party council seat

Aishath Nahula, the youngest wife of Jumhoree Party (JP) leader Qasim Ibrahim, has won a seat at the party council.
She won with 227 votes at the JP congress held at Paradise Island Resort on Friday night.
A total of 22 members vied for the 15 seats at the council.
While JP leader Qasim has twice contested for presidency and worked in the political sphere for some time, none of his wives had previously held a political position.
