Makunudhoo MP Anara Naeem has said that most of the youth who go home from school are seen to be irresponsible and this is the same case when they go to jobs.
She made this remark during the debate held at Wednesday's parliament sitting regarding the proposed amendments to the law which prohibits threatening and the use of sharp objects.
MP Anara said that this is rampant in the society because of the scarcity of correct Islamic upbringing and education.
She said that the people who work for reform should be more sincere and honest in building the nation instead of making lip service alone.
“I’d say that all of the people should stand up for our nation. It is high time to stand up to build our nation. Security and safety has been increasing in our nation unlike the state it was yesterday. Every society will have anti-social elements. We should have good laws to stop these elements from committing crimes. We members have a big responsibility upon our shoulders regarding this,” she said.
