YouTube، famous video hosting service، acknowledges the strength of its gaming community and will be creating an app specialized for video game players and fans.
Titled، YouTube Gaming will launch in both US and UK in summer، with exclusively gamers in mind. More than 25،000 games – everything from Call Of Duty to Legend of Zelda – will have its own curator pages، with the best game-play videos and live streams on the title. Game developers and game-focused “YouTubers” will have their own channels within the app.
The Google-owned video streamer has added a few extra features as well، specific to gaming community. It will now send alerts to users when there is a new live stream on the channel، that the user had subscribed to. In addition to this، the search function has been tailored in order to surface game-related topics.
YouTube plans to add an improved live streaming experience and focus on making those streams accessible through home page.
The announcement comes just days before the annual gaming convention E3.
The new launch is part of the company’s effort to create a suite of products tailored to specific content.
