Chinese Government has handed over an MVR 1.14 million aid to marble the grounds around Islamic Centre.
The MOU for the agreement was signed in a ceremony held in Housing Ministry. Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives Wang Fukang signed the agreement on behalf of China, with Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizz signed the agreement on behalf of the Government of Maldives.
Speaking in the ceremony, Housing Minister Dr. Muizz stated that the Ministry will soon announce for potential partners to supply marble and the project is expected to be completed before start of Ramadan.
Dr. Muizz thanked the Chinese Government and Ambassador Wang Fukang for their assistance in many development projects.
Ambassador Wang said that Islamic Center was of cultural significance to the country. He added that China was pleased to get this opportunity to assist Maldives.
Senior officials of Chinese Embassy and Housing Ministry took part in the ceremony.
