An Indian businessman calls everyone to be someone who visits Maldives.
He said this while speaking at the 3rd Investment Forum of Maldives held at New Delhi on 22nd of this month. He said that now the world is divided into two and that is people who have visited Maldives, and people who have not. He said that hence it is important for everyone to visit Maldives.
He said that no other country in the world has as much natural beauty as Maldives and hence everyone should visit Maldives to experience this first hand. In addition, he said that still a lot of Indians are unaware about Maldives and it is important to provide this information to Indians. He also noted that it is important to have tourism packages in Maldives which are affordable for average Indian tourists.
Furthermore, he said that once direct scheduled flights from New Delhi and Mumbai starts to Maldives the number of tourists to Maldives from India will increase. “ Even now 10,000 tourists visit Maldives from India via Sri Lanka. All of them wants to return to Maldives again.” Said the businessman. He said that the Maldivian tourism industry is an expensive jewelry but people will only know this when its marketed properly.
Speaking about the Maldivian target to get 7 million tourists annually, he said that, if marketed properly it is possible to get 7 million tourists from India alone.
