Director General of the Environment Ministry, Mohamed Zahir has said that the smuggling of dangerous animals can be stopped if all the responsible institutions work together.
Mohamed Zahir made this remark speaking at the discussion forum held at SHE building by the Environment Ministry regarding the steps to be taken to control alien species.
Zahir said that the discussions were very successful and all showed their support to cooperate with one another to stop the smuggling of dangerous animals in to Maldives.
He said that there are adequate laws already made but the problem is that nothing can be done except with the observation of many institutions.
Zahir said that the activities can be completed within six months. He said that the smuggling of foreign animals might endanger those species.
