Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Nasheed on Wednesday departed for Washington D.C., USA, to attend the 10th V-20 Ministerial Dialogue of the Vulnerable Twenty (V20) Groups of Ministers of Finance.
The event is co-organised by the Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
According to the Parliament Secretariat, Speaker Nasheed was extended a special invitation by the current chair of the V20, the Minister for Finance of Ghana, Ken Ofori-Atta, to attend the Ministerial dialogue on the theme "From Accra to Marrakesh: Advocating Fit-for-Climate Financial Architecture and Development-Positive Climate Action."
During the visit, Nasheed is also scheduled to meet senior officials from the IMF, World Bank, and CVF.
