Bank of Maldives has on Thursday re-opened applications for the BML Small Grants Fund. The Small Grants Fund was introduced earlier this year as part of the Bank’s 40th anniversary to support NGOs.
The aim of the fund is to allow NGOs an additional opportunity to access financing to implement sustainable environmental projects.
BML said the fund is open for NGOs to carry out community-based projects that address environmental issues and promote sustainable development. The Fund will award MVR 250,000 each for the top 8 projects.
The bank has advised applications to be sent before September 15, 2022 via email. NGOs registered in the Maldives before 31st December 2021 are eligible to apply.
BML also opened this opportunity to NGOs last May. BML has decided to hold 12 special events this year to mark its 40th anniversary, including the Small Grand Fund.
Activities so far include housing grants, BML start-up grants, further development and modernization of the National Library and the introduction of a BML Scholarship Fund.
