British-Spanish actor Taz Skylar, celebrated worldwide for his role as Sanji in Netflix’s record-breaking One Piece live-action series, has arrived in the Maldives to begin his journey as a Global Ambassador for Visit Maldives, the Maldives’ tourism brand.
Skylar’s ambassadorship is part of the Visit Maldives Global Ambassadorship Programme, which leverages international personalities to showcase the Maldives to new audiences. His visit will spotlight the Maldives as a premier destination not only for leisure but also for adventure, culture, and sustainability.
During his stay, Skylar will experience a wide range of activities across multiple atolls, highlighting the diversity of the Maldives’ tourism offering. His programme includes diving and marine encounters to underscore the Maldives’ global reputation for underwater beauty, wellness and lifestyle experiences that reflect the islands’ luxury appeal, and immersive cultural activities with local communities. He will also explore the adventurous side of the Maldives, showcasing the destination as more than a place of relaxation but also a hub for excitement and discovery.
Through his social media presence with more than 1.8 million engaged followers, Skylar will share his journey with global audiences—offering an authentic glimpse into the Maldives’ rich culture, breathtaking natural beauty, and sustainable tourism practices.
