Hiyala and Ummeedh has won the three matches played so far in HZJ Volleyball Tournament 2023 organized by Hanimaadhoo Zuvaanunge Jamiyya (HZJ).
In the first match of match day four, Ummeedh won the match 3 sets to 1 set against Barefoot. Ummeedh won the match with sets 25/11, 17/25, 25/08, 25/11. Aishath Mohamad of Ummeedh was selected as the best player of the Match.
In the second match of day four, Hiyala won the match against Rare Squad with 3 sets. Hiyala won the sets 25/16, 25/16, 25/22. Aminath Aroosha of Hiyala was selected as the best player of the Match.
In the first match of match day five, Barefoot played against Rooh at 1610 hrs of yesterday and in the second match of match day five Ummeedhu played against Hiyala at 2010 hrs last night.
A total of five teams participated in the tournament. They are Hiyala, Barefoot, Rooh, Ummeedh and Reyru Squad.
The objectives of organizing the tournament are to inculcate and revive the spirit of the sports among the women of Hanimaadhoo, to enhance their volleyball skills, to improve unity among people, and allow them to play volleyball in a competitive environment.
Hanimaadhoo Zuvaanunge Jamiyya, which was registered in 1993, has been working for the development of the island since they were established. Moreover, they have won the National Award in 2016. This is the 30th consecutive year that the organization has been running unabated.
