A man was arrested from Hulhumale’ on early Tuesday after over 80 liquor bottles were found hidden in the car he was driving.
The police identified the suspect arrested in the case as Mohamed Ushan, 46, G. Laamige, K. Male’.
He was arrested in an operation conducted by the police following a report regarding bottles of alcohol being loaded to a car in Reethigas Magu.
The police stopped the car in front of the Amin Avenue Maple. In a subsequent search, the police found cardboard boxes wrapped in black plactic bags inside the trunk of the car.
Inside the cardboard boxes were 84 liquor bottles.

In addition to arresting Ushan, the police also towed the vehicle he was driving.
The case is under further investigation by the police.
