Hajj Corp. Prepares Pilgrims for Hajj With Mandatory Briefings

With preparations for the annual Hajj pilgrimage well underway, the Maldives Hajj Corporation has begun a series of mandatory information sessions to ensure pilgrims are equipped with essential guidance before departing for Saudi Arabia.
Held at the meeting hall of the Islamic Centre, the sessions are organised by the Maldives Hajj Corporation, with the first gathering specifically arranged for travellers departing next Monday. Among those in attendance were Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed and Mohamed Shakeel, Managing Director of the Hajj Corporation.
Pilgrims received detailed briefings on the fundamental rites of Hajj, covering its pillars and the essential practices required throughout the pilgrimage. Particular attention was given to the regulations surrounding the state of Ihram, along with advice on health precautions and preparatory measures to support both physical well-being and spiritual fulfilment.
Shakeel addressed the gathering, urging travellers under the corporation's purview to comply with Saudi Arabia's legal and regulatory requirements. He stressed the importance of patience, acknowledging the inevitable challenges pilgrims may encounter along the way.
"Hajj tests us in every possible way," Shakeel said. "We must remain patient. There are moments when even I feel frustrated, but patience must always take precedence." He also underscored the need for mutual respect, calling on Maldivian pilgrims to treat the corporation's employees and accompanying support staff with courtesy and consideration.
