President pledges budget allocation for harbour development in Mundoo

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced that the Government will allocate funding in the forthcoming national budget for the development of a harbour in L. Mundoo.
The President made these remarks during a meeting with residents of Mundoo, as part of his ongoing visit to the inhabited islands of Hadhdhunmathi.
During the meeting held at Mundoo School, council members, heads of local institutions, and residents raised several community welfare and development concerns. Council members emphasised the importance of harbour development, while residents highlighted the need for improved healthcare services and the establishment of a volleyball court for women.
In response, the President affirmed that the Government’s comprehensive development agenda for the next two years includes the enhancement of sporting facilities, the upgrading of health centres to include laboratory testing capabilities, and the installation of air conditioning in schools – initiatives that will extend to Mundoo.
Minister of Education Dr Ismail Shafeeu, who was also present at the gathering, announced that, in addition to air conditioning, Mundoo School will undergo renovations, including new tiling, procurement of new furniture, and refurbishment of the school building.
The President engaged directly with residents, listening to their concerns and exchanging views on a range of local issues.
