The Ministry of Tourism and Environment has opened a tender to find a party to develop and operate a tourist hotel in Sh. Funadhoo.
In an announcement, the Ministry stated that it has decided to open bidding to find a party to develop and operate a tourist hotel on a 3-hectare plot of land designated for tourism development in Funadhoo.
An information session for interested parties will be held virtually on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Those wishing to participate in this meeting must email [email protected] before 12:00 PM on Sunday, February 22, 2026.
Bidding documents will be available for purchase from February 1, 2026, to March 30, 2026. The documents can be obtained from the reception of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment on the 5th floor of Velaanaage, every working day from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM.
The deadline for bid submission for this project is 12:00 PM on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. The Ministry has requested that any parties seeking further clarification regarding the bid submit their queries via email before March 26, 2026.
The land is designated to be leased for a period of 50 years. The hotel must be developed with a minimum of 50 rooms (100 beds), with a minimum investment value of $50,000 per room.
