Tourism occupancy improves in the first 7 months of the year – Tourism Ministry

Tourism occupancy improves in the first 7 months of the year, compared to the same period last year, according to statistics released by Ministry of Tourism.
The statistics reveals that by end of July the country had a recorded beds of 49,095 out of which on average 45,983 were operated during the said period.
From January till end of July beds the country recorded an occupancy rate of 64.4 percent, which is a 1.7 percent increase in comparison to the statistics of the same period last year. The statistics by the ministry also revealed an increase of 13.6 percent on average nights spent by tourists during January to end of July period. In this regard by end of July number of nights spent in tourist accommodations such as staying in resorts, hotels, guesthouses and live a boards, reached to 6,228, 166. On average tourists spent 6.3 days in the country during this period.
European countries dominated the arrivals, by contributing 49 percent of total tourist arrivals from January till end of July. Arrivals from Europe increased by 16 percent during this period, with arrivals from European countries reached 487,165. In the month of July alone, the country saw an arrival of 53,318 from European countries, according to the stats by the Ministry. The statistics also showed that the second most arrivals to the country was recorded from Asia Pacific countries. 41.5 percent of arrivals were noted from Asia Pacific countries, from January till July while total arrivals reached 413,066. In July alone 64,287 tourists arrived into the country from Asia Pacific countries which is a 17.4 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
